Ron Bauman, age 38, lives in St. Catharines, Ontario. As a full-time job, he manages services at the student union of his alma mater, Brock University. While attending Brock, he studied popular culture - that's right, he has an actual degree in popular culture. After that, he attended Niagara College to get a certificate in public relations. In the midst of it all, Ron found his true love in Phil. 

16 years later, the two have been married for six and are pawthers to Agatha, a rescued German Shepherd/Akita Inu mix. Life is pretty simple for Ron - he wakes up, works, comes home to cook, then settles on the couch next to Phil. The shake things up, they like to travel. Cruises are the go-to for a frugle getaway and have visited most of the Caribbean. Europe was Ron's long-time dream destination and after the two wed in 2019, they took a sixteen-day train trip through some of their now favourite countries: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Switzerland. Travel and escape are what they work for. Only 20 countries under his belt, Ron continues to find new adventures wherever he can go. 

As for his pop culture degree, he celebrates the late 80s, all the 90s and early 2000s regularly. A League of Their Own still tops the list of his favourite films and considers himself a pioneer fan of Survivor, Big Brother and The Amazing Race. 

A self-admitted couch potato, Ron has been spending the last three years trying to break old habits. He now focuses on building up healthy routines and habits, such as working out regularly and practicing a balanced plant-based diet (with the odd chicken or fish on the menu). Now, his writing is a focus and hopes to have a regular post each week.
